As Headteacher I am very proud of our school and all that we achieve together. It is a privilege for me to have this opportunity to share with you the fantastic community of children, parents, staff, governors, our ‘Friends Association’, volunteers and indeed our relationship with the wider community too. Our supportive and strong
partnership means we achieve so much together. We are proud of our fully inclusive approach and our strong commitment to educating the whole child.
We are a happy school. Visitors frequently comment on the friendly, positive and welcoming atmosphere. Attendance and behaviour are excellent throughout the school. We have a good reputation in both the local and wider community. We like to learn together, have fun and enjoy celebrating success.
We work effectively with our Cluster Schools to support each other to provide the best possible learning experiences for every individual child. We share training with cluster schools when appropriate. Regularly, our year 4 children hear Kinsale Infant year 2s read. During the summer term our year 4 work on a transition project with all the transferring year 2s.
The School has the benefit of being situated just off Middletons Lane on a large site that is shared with Hellesdon Community Pre-school, Hellesdon Sure Start Children’s Centre Hub, Kinsale Infant School and Hellesdon High School. We have good working relationship with all our local Infant Schools supporting each other and ensuring a smooth transition from infant to junior school. Our excellent links with Hellesdon High School ensure that our children are well prepared for their move to the High School at the end of Year 6.
We have recently applied to the Department for Education to join the Wensum Trust.
Our school motto ‘Learning and Achievement for All’ is very real, come and visit to see for yourself. In December 2014 were judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’ in all areas and ‘outstanding’ with our provision for SEND pupils.
